ZUCCOTTO History

The company Meishin Co., Ltd., which manufactures ZUCCOTTO shoes,
started as a small women's shoe manufacturer in Nagoya in 1955. It was founded by the former president and a few craftsmen.

In the early days of our company, shoemaking was a thriving industry.
However, as the economy worsened, a large number of inexpensive shoes began to be imported from overseas.
As a result, Japan's shoemaking industry gradually declined,
and before we knew it, there were hardly any shoe manufacturers left around us.

Due to the location, there were few stores selling shoe-related materials,
making it difficult to outsource the various stages of shoemaking.
This challenge inspired us to become an independent company with the philosophy of “doing everything we can in-house until a pair of shoes is complete.”

After going through tough times, the number of skilled shoemakers as a profession is gradually decreasing.
Now, our company is stepping into a new stage of craftsmanship.

We want to create an original brand and sell the shoes we believe are good directly to customers.

To realize this dream, we honed our skills by working on domestic licensed products,
items for retail stores, and original products for department stores,
all while creating our own original shoe designs.

And in 2008,
we launched our own brand, 'ZUCCOTTO,'
and opened a long-awaited shop and café next to our workshop.
